ENERGY STAR® PARTNER
Going Green with Champion Homes
While many homes might be considered Green, all Green homes are not equal. When a Champion home is delivered, it can be up to 95% complete. As a result, our site refuse is limited to weather-protection material and some lumber used for stabilizing the module during transportation. This means our minimal on-site construction generates a fraction of the site waste associated with conventional construction.
By purchasing a more energy-efficient Champion home, you can help save valuable energy resources and at the same time save money on your monthly operating costs. Read on to learn more about ENERGY STAR® and the standard and optional Green Features that can save energy and money, and benefit the environment.
What is ENERGY STAR?
One of the first steps you can take toward a Green Home is through Energy Star®. Jointly administered by the US Environmental Protection Agency and the US Department of Energy, ENERGY STAR® is a voluntary labeling program designed to identify energy-efficient products to consumers. ENERGY STAR® homes are designed to be 30% more energy efficient than a comparable home built to the Model Energy Code. The production efficiencies of manufactured housing construction combined with building envelope, air distribution, and heating and cooling enhancements result in lower initial and long-term home ownership costs.
So, why choose ENERGY STAR?
Save Money - When you consider your home's total operating cost (mortgage plus utilities) the energy-efficient ENERGY STAR® home saves money every month through lower utility bills.
Save More Money - ENERGY STAR® financing partners offer homebuyers incentives such as cash back at closing, interest rate discounts, or waiver of certain fees. In addition, some utility companies promote special programs designed to encourage reduced energy consumption through energy efficiency.
Make More Money - When the time comes to sell your home, studies have shown that energy-efficient homes earn a higher resale price than average homes.
Make Your Home More Comfortable - Properly installed and inspected insulation in floors, walls, and ceilings provides even temperatures throughout the house, reduced energy use and increased comfort.
Make the World a Better Place - Energy used in our homes often comes from the burning of fossil fuels at power plants, which contributes to smog, acid rain, and other pollutants. Simply put, the less energy we use in our homes, the less air pollution we generate.
The Savings are Built in
Investing in an ENERGY STAR® qualified home saves you money for the life of your home. Champion Homes of Idaho, an ENERGY STAR® Partner, makes the choice easy by offering Energy Star performance levels for every manufactured home we build.
